Access your Outlook or Hotmail inbox from any browser or device with this step-by-step guide.
Checking Outlook / Hotmail on the Web
To **check your Outlook or Hotmail email** from any browser, visit **outlook.live.com** and sign in with your Microsoft account. Outlook.com is Microsoft's unified webmail interface for all @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, and @msn.com addresses.
Once signed in, your inbox is displayed in a clean, modern layout. The left sidebar shows your folders, and you can switch between Mail, Calendar, People, and Tasks using the icons on the left.
Using the Outlook Mobile App
Microsoft's Outlook app for iOS and Android is one of the best mobile email clients available.
- Download **Microsoft Outlook** from the App Store or Google Play - Sign in with your Microsoft account - The app intelligently prioritizes your most important emails
The Outlook app also supports Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, and Exchange accounts — making it a powerful unified inbox for managing multiple email accounts from one place.
Setting Up Outlook on iPhone
To add Outlook/Hotmail to iPhone's native Mail app:
1. Go to **Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account** 2. Choose **Outlook.com** 3. Enter your email and password 4. Toggle on Mail, Contacts, Calendars as needed 5. Tap **Save**
Your Hotmail/Outlook inbox syncs via Microsoft Exchange protocol, which provides push notifications and real-time sync.
Setting Up Outlook on Android
The easiest option on Android is the official Outlook app. Alternatively, add Outlook to Gmail:
1. Open Gmail → profile icon → Add account 2. Choose **Outlook, Hotmail, and Live** 3. Sign in with your Microsoft account

Outlook Troubleshooting Tips
**Can't sign in?** Visit account.microsoft.com to reset your password. If your account has been blocked for suspicious activity, follow the account recovery steps on Microsoft's support page.
**Emails going to junk?** Add trusted senders to your Safe Senders list: Settings → Junk email → Safe senders. Also check your Sweep rules and Block list.
**Old Hotmail address?** All @hotmail.com addresses now use Outlook.com — sign in the same way. Your old emails are still there.
**Business Outlook (Microsoft 365)?** Access at outlook.office.com with your work email and Microsoft 365 credentials. Your IT department can assist with login issues.
